Why I Built a Life That’s Always in Motion (and Why I Never Want to Slow Down)

Here’s something you should know about me: I’ve never been the “one thing at a time” girl.

In college, I wasn’t just going to classes. I was double majoring, chasing academic honors, in multiple clubs, working as a lab researcher and a medical scribe, on e-board of a sorority — all while being very committed to going out and having a lot of fun. Maybe too much fun. Since then, the pace hasn’t slowed: I got my master’s degree, moved cities (twice), traveled while working remotely, and now I’m building a startup while growing a personal brand across TikTok, YouTube, and my blog.

Yes, I like to stay busy. And no, I don’t plan on changing that about me. Its one of my favorite parts.

People often ask me why I do so much. The short answer? I hate feeling bored. But more than that — I hate feeling like I’m not progressing. I have this constant pull toward more. More growth. More experiences. More becoming. Not because I’m dissatisfied, but because I know life is short and I want to squeeze the juice out of every bit of it.

Sometimes that comes with a little existential anxiety — I’ll admit it. I’ll never be able to read every book, learn every language, or travel to every country. But I’m trying to get as close as I can. I want a life that feels full — of movement, meaning, challenge, beauty, people, and creativity. I want to look back knowing I lived.

So how do I manage it all?

The real secret is that I want to. That desire drives everything. But practically speaking, I’ve become a master of my own calendar. My Apple Calendar is my best friend — color-coded, clear, and religiously reviewed. I also use a second system for a high-level overview, especially when I need to zoom out and see the big picture.

But more important than tools is clarity. I always know what I’m working toward — short-term, long-term, and even the “maybe someday” stuff. Every Sunday, I revisit my goals. I even give myself permission to change them. I’m not obsessed with achieving the goal — I’m obsessed with having a direction. A north star. A purpose to move toward. That’s what keeps me grounded, even in the chaos.

Because while my day-to-day might look “normal” — a 9-5, time with friends, grocery runs — underneath it all, there’s intention. Structure. Strategy. And a wild amount of want.

A fast lifestyle isn’t for everyone. But for those of us who crave more, who are endlessly curious, who feel most alive in motion — it’s not just sustainable, it’s essential.

So here’s to the doers, the dreamers, the calendar snobs. The ones who want to build empires, travel the world, start businesses, make memories, and somehow still have time to get their nails done.

You don’t have to pick one path. You just have to decide who you want to be — and be brave enough to build a life that matches it… and maybe sacrifice a bit of sleep in between.
